Christmas has been and gone but I’m still celebrating, for today marks one whole year since I signed up for my allotment! And what a great year it has been on the allotment, the new year will be even better because I haven’t got this to face!
Plot 5 has completely transformed, what was once a weedy mess now resembles an allotment and I couldn’t be more proud of what I have achieved in a short space of time. Signing up for another allotment after having major surgery for stage 4 endometriosis was a brave move, but it has been the best thing I have done post surgery. I still struggle a little every now and then with symptoms (my condition was complicated plus there’s currently no cure for endometriosis), but I’m stronger physically and mentally too, I believe because of my allotment.

If you’ve thought about signing up for an allotment next year I urge you to do it, why not make it your New Years resolution?
I empathise with you. ( I know what endometriosis is). You are very courageous and I think, like you, gardening is a very good therapie. I’m encouraging and helping people with cancer to do gardening for these very reasons. I wish you a happy New Year and a lot of succes in gardening in your allotment.
