Asparagus season is underway, shame I can’t pick any spears yet! My plants are entering their second season, grown from seed rather than buying 1 year old crowns - cheaper option but the wait however you do it is lonnnnng. Much longer from seed 🤣 I have to remind myself it will be worth it 🤪 #asparagus #allotment #growyourown #growfood #allotmentuk #allotmentgardening Hello Spring! 🌼 💚 A rare sunny day on the allotment, nice to feel the sunshine again ☀️ Rosie inspecting todays harvest of main crop carrots and parsnips. 🥕🥕 #allotment #harvest #carrots #homegrownfood #homegrownveggies #parsnips #jackrussell #dogsofinstagram #allotmentdog #dogsofinstagram #allotmentuk #allotmentuk #growyourown #gardenbuddy I hope the allotment beasties are snug in the bug hotel I made last year 💚 It’s a simple structure using stacked pallets, the gaps filled mostly with natural materials found on the plot. I drilled small holes in pieces of a broken tree stake and these were filled very quickly by mason bees. Cold January visits to the plot with Rosie 🐾 Snug as a bug in her little coat. It’s snowing right now in Bedfordshire, so here’s a photo of a rare sunny day from last week! #allotment #allotmentuk #garlic #gardening #allotmentblogger #allotmentlife #allotments #allotmentsofinstagram
