I’ve returned from my holiday to the Jurassic coast refreshed and raring to go on my allotment. I planned to spend the day at the plot digging over the covered area to create a new bed, but considering it’s pouring down I decided to briefly blog about my holiday instead.
I stayed in the coastal town of Lyme Regis and visited many other stunning locations along the coastline, Dorset calls me back time and time again and I just love it.
I’m proud of the above photo. I don’t consider myself to be very fit so the sheer fact that I managed to get to the very top of the Golden Cap (a cliff and the highest point on the south coast of Great Britain) to take this photo is an achievement itself. I won’t lie, I was puffing like a steam train by the time I reached the top but I did it and boy was it worth it for the breathtaking view. My allotment work outs are clearly helping my fitness.
I love a spot of shopping in Lyme Regis and my absolute favourite shop to visit is Ginger Beer. Mainly a camping accessories shop, you can also find items (including vintage) for the garden or allotment. I bought some gifts for my allotment including a locally made wicker basket ideal for collecting flowers. I’m looking forward to plenty of cut flowers from my plot next year, apart from the sunflowers my flower patch and trough were a bit disappointing.
I have tons of photos but I’ll leave this blog post here before I get carried away. There’s no sign of the rain stopping so it might be a day stuck indoors, dreaming of Dorset.
